The Rialto and Ponteveccio were once two most important commercial centers in Europe. Both are bridges that sit within the two most famous cities of Italy, we start our ride in Venice and finish in Florence. During our ride we will explore the Delta of the Po valley, experience the iconic beauty of Ravenna, relax at sea side beach resorts, visit one of Europes smallest republics San Marino, cross the Appennini Mountains through passes used since Roman times, and finish our ride in the renessance city of Florence. As we ride we will discover the foods and wine each province while cycling through an almost forgotten but not unknown Italy. Off the beaten track you discover typical provincial towns and old forgotten walled cities and kingdoms. Enjoy a cup of cappuccino in one of the many little cafés on the piazza and listen to the locals, discussing sports and politics. This is a great grand tour ride for those that enjoy the meditation spirit of riding.
